BING DRINKING - YOUNG ADULTS OUT OF CONTROL


Binge drinking refer to the act of drinking heavily over a short period of time or drinking continously over a number of days or weeks. Some common definitions of binge drinking / a binge drinker are Drinking to get drunk - a bender. Binge drinking can also be occasional bouts of heavy drinking by young and/ or non-dependent people intermittent , or irregular , episodes of excessive drinking.

People who binge drink could be causing rapid damage to their health researchers suggestst. The finding could have implications for the growing legions of young people in the UK who binge drink. It has commonly been thought that brain damage occurs not when a person is drunk , but over a longer period when the brain has to cope with alcohol withdrawal.

I believe since alcohol will affect different people in different ways , there is no fixed relationship between the amount drunk and its consequences. Some specific venues are involved in aggressive marketing practices that I believe are irresponsible and inappropriate. Shots being taken from table to table , on a try , which encourages customers to consume more alcohol particularly when they are in a large groups. I think society is paying the price for this.
